Leonora (Almeida) Francis, 99, of Dartmouth, passed away on Monday, February 12, 2024 at home. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward J. Francis, they shared 65 years of marriage.

Mrs. Francis was born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Anibal and Rose (Enos) Almeida and had been a longtime resident of Dartmouth. She was a gifted homemaker and had also worked as a teacher's aide. Her greatest joy was being co-pilot to Eddie on their motor home trips down to Ft. Myers, FL where they enjoyed being snowbirds.

Survivors include her daughter: Cynthia L. Francis of Dartmouth; 2 daughters-in-law: Claudette Francis of Dartmouth and Chris Francis of Eagle River, AK; her brother-in-law: Robert Francis (Barbara) of Rochester; 4 grandchildren: Matthew Francis (Cindy), Ian Francis (Alisia), Tracy Francis (Steve Rinker) and Kelley Lajoie (Bart); 4 great grandchildren: Brandon and Bradley Lajoie, Norah and Ezra Francis; along with many nieces and nephews.

She was the mother of the late Lloyd T. Francis and David P. Francis and sister of the late Lloyd Almeida.

The Francis Family wishes to extend their thanks to Community Nurse Home Care for all of their support and compassionate care.

A graveside service will be held at Friends Cemetery, North Dartmouth at a future date.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Potter Funeral Home, Westport.
