Are You At Risk For Developing Type 2 Diabetes? YMCA Southcoast Can Help

By YMCA Southcoast | Sep 03, 2017

YMCA Southcoast is offering no obligation Information Sessions on the YMCA Diabetes Prevention Program due to begin in September 2017.

The program is open to qualifying adults that are at risk for developing type 2 diabetes.  A blood value from your physician or completion of  the quick Risk Assessment will determine your eligibility to join the one year long lifestyle modification program.  Its purpose is to empower adults with lasting lifestyle changes that will improve their overall health and reduce their risk  of developing type 2 diabetes.  Research from the National Institutes of Health has shown that programs like the YMCA's Diabetes Prevention Program reduce the number of new cases of diabetes by 58% overall and by 71% in individuals over age 60.
