There's now a seven-minute summary of Dartmouth on YouTube, and it's chock-full of aerial shots.

Dartmouth Community Television revealed its latest projects — a Dartmouth promo video — at the June 26 Select Board meeting. The video was completed per request of the board last month.

"We tried to make it multi-purpose," said Cyndi Marland, director of media for the town.

Marland said that DCTV staff teamed up with a former intern to create the video, using a drone to get the aerial shots.

"This is the second time I've seen it, and i'm just as impressed the second time as I was the first," said Select Board Chair Frank Gracie.

The video expands on Dartmouth's geographic location, history and culture, government, businesses and development, education, energy and technology, and recreation.

Selectman Shawn McDonald requested the video for his June visit to the Azorean town of Lagoa. The trip to Dartmouth's sister city is aimed at building stronger community relationships, which may include a cultural exchange program for students.

Dartmouth's sister cities include the Portuguese cities of Nordeste and Povoção, and Dartmouth, England.

Nine total delegates from Lagoa's U.S.-based sister cities were invited to convene in the Azorean town. Locally, those include Fairhaven, Taunton, Fall River, and Bristol, Rhode Island.
