Dartmouth fire crews battled a garage fire at a home on Fisher Road on March 12.

Dartmouth Fire District No. 2 responded to the call for a fire in an attached garage at a home at 980 Fisher Road at around 2:30 p.m., according to scanner traffic.

District No. 2 Chief Tim Andre said crews were able to extinguish the blaze, and contained the fire to the garage and a smaller addition on the single-family home.

Despite that, the homeowners were displaced due to smoke damage to the main portion of the building, Andre said.

Fire crews were on scene for much of the afternoon, and left the scene at about 5 p.m.

The homeowner was home at the time. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is unclear.

Dartmouth Fire District No. 3 provided mutual aid at District No. 2’s station
