Franziska Rose, 87

Franziska (Schmid) Rose, 87, of Dartmouth, died on August 30, 2017 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Leonard F. Rose.

Born in Gablinger, Germany, the daughter of the late Andreas and Martina (Ashenmeier) Schmid, she moved to the United States in 1952 where she lived in Dartmouth for many years. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, and enjoyed cooking, knitting, and watching sports.

Survivors include two children, LuAnn Mendoza of New Bedford and Leonard F. Rose, Jr. and his fiancée, Aurora Resendes of Taunton; her sister, Gerta, of Germany; her grandson, Brian Rose and his wife Tara; four great-grandchildren, Ben, Tucker, Gracie, and Kallie; and her dear friend, Rochelle Dextraze. She was the mother-in-law of the late Walter Mendoza.

Her funeral was held on September 5. Burial was at St. John’s Cemetary.
