Free Art and Science Nature Journaling Workshop for Kids in Grades 5-8

Art and Science Nature Journaling,

Wednesday, May 2, 4-5PM at the Marion Art Center.

Middle school students: fire up your imagination and join us to experience the outdoors in a whole new way at the Marion Art Center. Led by artist, author, and educator Peter C. Stone, you’ll explore symbols in nature through journaling. After a short talk, illustrated by paintings from the artist’s award-winning book, Dreams to Dance in Moonlight: Ways of Feeling, Seeing, and Imagining, you’ll create pen and watercolor artworks in journals, and written pieces to begin a story of your own.

Peter C. Stone’s enthusiasm for observing nature is contagious. His paintings and books explore the evolutionary wisdom and interconnectedness of endangered creatures, cultures, and ecosystems. Since 1983, he has presented hundreds of in-school events and workshops, more than sixty solo shows, and over one hundred group exhibitions at galleries and museums.

All materials will be provided. Free admission; registration required.
