We were so excited to welcome the 61 people who attended our first Movie Night last Friday, we forgot to charge for the popcorn!

Seriously, it was fascinating to review the life of Steve McQueen, at one time the number one star in Hollywood. From a broken home, through a school for troubled boys, to early enlistment in the Navy, he was largely on his own.

Yet Steve seemed to have made it!

"The King of Cool" had fame, money, beautiful cars, and beautiful women...yet an inner emptiness lingered, which was so huge, only God could fill it.

It was touching to hear his own recorded voice say, "I've wasted a great deal of my life, and now as my body breaks down, I've found faith in Jesus Christ as my Savior."

Steve died of a heart attack following surgery in Mexico, but not before meeting with Billy Graham, who flew down to see and talk with him. Billy actually gave Steve his own Bible from which he had preached to millions of people.

In a way, that seems so fitting, because every single person is the object of God's love and is invited to step out of the crowd, and to receive Jesus Christ as their own Savior.

We think it not too much of a stretch to believe both Billy Graham and Steve McQueen would urge you, and those you love, to trust Christ for salvation today!

John 5:24  (KJV)

"Truly, truly,, I say to you, He that hears my word, and believes on him that sent me, has everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life."
