Did you know that there are 2.5 million children in the U.S. who experience being homeless each year? If you do the math, that is one in every 30 children and at least one in every classroom. School on Wheels works to provide tutoring to homeless children and helps them achieve educational success. The organization works to enhance educational opportunities for homeless children, minimize any gaps in their education, and provide them with the highest possible level of education for their students. PCT Federal Credit Union is proud to announce we have partnered with School on Wheels and are collecting school supplies to donate to local homeless children! We realize the value of education, supporting our youth, and providing them with stability.

Our School Supply Drive will run the entire month of August and donations can be dropped off at our Main Office. While we appreciate any and all donations, School on Wheels has listed the following items as high demand:

  • Backpacks
  • Pencil sharpeners
  • School binders (2” or larger)
  • 3-ring ruled paper
  • Colored pencils

Donations of any school supplies are accepted and appreciated. Membership with PCT Federal Credit Union is not required to donate and donations from anybody are encouraged!

School on Wheels is very special to us because of their goals, mission, and core values. School on Wheels’ core values determine how they treat others, their students, volunteers, donors, partners, and the communities they serve. They do all they can to serve their local communities and ensure that every child has an equal opportunity for their education. School on Wheels’ core values align with PCT’s as we strive to make a difference in our community and give back.

Donations will be accepted throughout the entire month of August at our Main Office on 2203 Cranberry Highway in West Wareham, MA 02576. Our Main Office hours are 9:00 am to 4:30 pm on weekdays and 9:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturdays. To learn more about School on Wheels and how you can help, visit http://sowma.org/.
