Several groups of people got together on April 21 to participate in town’s Green Up Day.

The event is meant to get residents involved in sprucing up their neighborhoods by cleaning up litter. The Department of Public Works provided trash bags and drop-off sites for those participating.

In the area bordered by Salt Creek Road, West Smith Neck Road, Gulf Road and Smith Neck Road people found various pieces of trash like a chicken feed bag with a dead chicken inside it.

People also got together to clean up streets surrounding schools and parks.
